In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, we at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Elementary would like to do our share to help the students affected that were displaced from their schools. Schools in the Florida Keys have already begun to reopen on a staggered schedule as the community begins to return to normal after the hurricane.
The remaining schools will begin school October 2, 2017. We are asking that you bring to the school donations of the following items, in a GALLON SIZED ZIPLOCK BAG, to help the victims of this disaster. These donations will be collected and shipped directly to the areas affected in the Keys. We ask that you participate and contribute to this worthy cause.
Each grade level will be collecting specific items for students from K-12. The following items are needed:
Pre-K & Kindergarten: Personal hygiene items, including: wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. (for Pre-K and Kindergarten age students)
Grades 1 & 2: School supplies such as crayons, colored pencils, composition books, pencils, glue, pens, etc.
Grade 3: Male (boys & young adult) toiletries and personal hygiene items
Grades 4-5: Female (girls & young adult) toiletries and personal hygiene items
Please bring items no later than Tuesday, October 10th . If you have any questions, please call (305) 226-4356. Once again, thank you in advance for helping others in our community, together we are strong!
